The Almighty Procrastination
Dec. 27th, 2025 11:02 pmHoly delayed post Batman!
I have been trying to update this for literally MONTHS... but on top of the desktop getting cranky and unusable for a while, two weeks of no internet and my country basically trying to go full internet censorship to PrOtEct teh KiDz - which has made me hesitant to write anything here or put any work into writing fanfiction on the chance that the government decides its unsuitable for children under the age of 40; I hit a really bad case of procrastination.
That being said, I have been posting fanart on Tumblr like crazy since the summer :'D Trying to enjoy my fun with the Date Everything fandom before its gets out of reach.
Of course there's VPNs, but that's now something the dogshit UK government is trying to outlaw or whatever. Maybe I should just turn into a queer secluded artist and make an obscene amount of gay sex art to drive myself crazy with, idk.
In any case, here's some nerd shit I've been getting into:
-Still on my Markiplier nonsense, although I haven't written any more fan works about his egos since the summer... I would like to write at least one more fic for In Space with Markiplier before I stop writing for that fandom. Also really excited about Iron Lung finally getting released at the end of January in America and Canada. I hope the UK gets a release too. I did send an email to ask Picturehouse about it, but they hadn't had any plans for it yet. I'm hoping the success in America might be enough to get our own release later on.
- As I mentioned above, got really into Date Everything. A campy dating game with 100 datables that are personified from objects and concepts that resides in your house. It's fun, but I've mostly been obsessing over the ships Eddie/Volt and Washford/Drysdale.
I even went to MCM London in October as realized Eddie and went to my first cosplay meet in over a decade (well over since I think it was around 2012 when I went to a Hetalia meet up... oh boy that was another lifetime ago).
It was fun, even though I did run away after the photoshoot due to nerves, it was nice to meet other fans there and to talk to them. I almost walked by the meet up point because of anxiety shit - but the person dressed as Skips pointed at me and yelled out 'EDDIE!' and got me to come over to the group XD It was kind of awesome and there was a fan there dressed as a pope from the movie Conclave taking pictures who cracked me up (being raised Catholic but leaving that faith behind when I turned 16 left me with a twisted sense of humor when it comes to memey christian edits or jokes - and let just say the pope cosplayer's holy ita bag full of pins made my day :'D).
I also went insane in artist alley and joined in on the Date Everything Stamp Rally, which meant getting so much Date Everything merch - especially of my boys Eddie and Volt. I completed it within the first two hours and might have been the first to do it, which got me a goodie bag from one of the stalls where the stamp rally ended XD Great times.
-Been reading a lot this year, mainly the manga series Monster by Naoki Urasawa. I've heard about this manga before, but my Dad actually got me into reading it at the beginning of the year. He goes to a little library in the park where you can leave and/or take a book and that's where he got the first volume. He started readig it and got really into it, so I started reading it too - especially when I found out the entire series was at my library. Unfortunately someone still has the last volume, even though it was overdue a month ago. I'm even tempted to just buy the last volume. In any case its been good and I've been enjoying it - plus I heard that it's suppose to get a re-release next year.
-Other manga series that I've also gotten obsessed with are The Summer Hikaru Died and This Monster Wants to Eat Me. One is a yaoi and the other a yuri, but both have a inhuman creature who are after their depressed lover. Mostly read more of TSHD than the latter,
-Been watching anime again. Picked up R.O.D The Tv from when I last saw it in 2020 and continued onward from episode 12. Started rewatching Haibane Renmei and saw that Texhnolyze was on the Internet Archive, so I'm watching that too.
