Oh boy, January nearly broke me ;_; and there's still a week and a half to go.
But time for geek stuff:
- I finished reading Monster and oh boy that was a series. Also been enjoying the Wolfgang/Tenma fanart on Tumblr so I might check out what's on AO3. Plus there's apparently a sequel series, so I might try and see if that's available through the library too.
- Finished watching Texhnolyzed and the last few episodes hit me emotionally like a train. It's definitely a bleak series, horrific too with the body horror that happens in the final episodes; but I think with the main character Ichise it really shines the value of life and what keeps you going - even if it all ends so awfully tragic.
There's definitely more layers to the series, especially with all the comparisons to heaven/hell and the people living on the surface or in the underground, as well as some of the other leading character playing very typical roles (Onishi as an honorable mob leader trying to keep some kind of peace and Shinji a young almost reckless leader of the street gang, both had at the beginning utterly devalued Ichise's life right after he had lost his arm and leg - but would go onto taking him in during various parts of the series after he get his experimental prosthetics). But Ichise becoming more actively involved with other people later on when he had seemingly been going through the motions beforehand feels like he's finally has a reason to keep fighting that isn't just for survival. But even when he loses those people and Ran's visions come true, he still had the moments of being alive to hold onto even when it all ends badly.
Idk if I'm making any sense. Not even sure if I would even recommend this series lol - but I did like it and would like to try rewatching it again someday.
-Not sure if I'll take part in femslash Febuary this year. I have drawn some stuff, but I just haven't really been sketching and just been slowly working on the drawings that I do have in my file. What I have drawn is mostly ships from Date Everything, but I would like to draw a few more for Uhura/T'Pring. Idk I'll just post whatever I want like I usually do.
-Decided to change the mood emojis on here and I didn't realize there had been new ones added 8D I was going to pick the bat one, but the animated gif for 'bouncy' in my previous entries was starting to annoy me lol, so I went for a cute jellyfishie.
- Not only is Iron Lung getting shown in the UK, but I have tickets to go see it next week :D I'm looking forward to it - if I don't dress up I'll probably wear my Markiplier in Space t-shirt, but I'm excited to see this.
